Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor is One of 500 Finalists for Toyota's 100 Cars for Good Program

Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program will award 100vehicles over the course of 100 days to 100 deserving nonprofit organizations based on votes from the public. A total of 500 finalists were selected based on their application as reviewed by an independent panel of judges who are experts in the fields of philanthropy and social responsibility. They are vying for the opportunity to win a new Toyota vehicle. Winning organizations will use the vehicles to help expand their reach and mission within the community.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor is proud to announce we've been selected as a finalist in Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program. Now we need your support! Vote for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor at www.facebook.com/toyota on June 26.
The Toyota van will be used by our Wilmington and San Pedro Clubs and our Teen Centers to transport youth from local schools to the Clubs.  Vans are also used for trips to college fairs, financial aid fairs, and workshops and seminars that support our Education program activities.  A new van will enable the Club to serve even more youth in the communities of Wilmington and San Pedro and enhance our educational activities.

Less than a year after facing ballot-box defeat in its bid for dormitories in Rancho Palos Verdes, Marymount College is turning its expansion-oriented eye down the hill toward San Pedro.


The private Catholic college last week announced a 50-year master plan that would overhaul its 11-acre San Pedro property, erecting new housing for hundreds of students and large new classroom buildings. At the same time, the school is increasing its footprint and revving up its cultural programming in the harbor community's downtown area. read more
