Persist: In Praise of the Creative Spirit in a World Gone Mad with Commerce

Peter Clothier, PH.D is an internationally-known writer who specializes in writing about art and artists. He is a former Dean of the Otis Art Institute and the College of Fine and Communication Arts at Loyola Marymount University.

Dr. Clothier's discussion will focus on his most recent book Persist: In Praise of the Creative Spirit in a World Gone Mad with Commerce, which addresses the predicament of creative people, even the most talented, who find it increasingly difficult to get a hearing in a cultural environment in which success is more often measured in commercial terms.

Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 7p.m.
