Stories from Guatemala:Literacy, Libraries, and Opportunities
Marymount seeks opportunities for support and integration to Guatemala with Librarians Without Borders (LWB). Our volunteer students, executive, and board have been working together on a partnership with a school library in Quetzaltenago, Guatemala. This is a very special little school that has big dreams (much like LWB). It aims to include students in the educational system who historically have been marginalized, including children from indigenous communities, and uses innovative pedagogy not found elsewhere in Guatemala. Long-term, the school dreams of opening additional schools in other Guatemalan communities, and we hope to be able to help them with their plans.

San Pedro High School Students Succeed at Junior Achievement
This is a video put together by the Business Academy teacher Mr. Damien Jordan at San Pedro High School on the Junior Achievement program that I and my students from Bus316 & Bus270 participated in this semester. This video shows the competition this past Friday at the JA Finance Park where many high schools from Southern CA came together and competed with their entrepreneurial projects.
Kudos to our Marymount students for taking an active role in mentoring these high school students and helping them grow...
