Stories from Guatemala:Literacy, Libraries, and Opportunities

Marymount seeks opportunities for support and integration to Guatemala with Librarians Without Borders (LWB). Our volunteer students, executive, and board have been working together on a partnership with a school library in Quetzaltenago, Guatemala. This is a very special little school that has big dreams (much like LWB). It aims to include students in the educational system who historically have been marginalized, including children from indigenous communities, and uses innovative pedagogy not found elsewhere in Guatemala. Long-term, the school dreams of opening additional schools in other Guatemalan communities, and we hope to be able to help them with their plans.
