At Marymount College, we place great importance on learning through real world experience. As part of this mission, we are bringing prominent California leaders to our Rancho Palos Verdes campus to discuss leadership challenges and opportunities in the 21st century. This series supports the development of Marymount's students, but is open to the public.
Join us Monday, April 8, at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium on the Marymount College Main Campus, when we will welcome:
Beate Kirmse is the owner of the contemporary art space Gallery Neuartig and TangerineKangaroo, a green lifestyle store promoting renewably sourced products. Both buisnesses operate out of the same space in downtown San Pedro, the historic waterfront district of Los Angeles. Kirmse decided to build her own business in 2007 after she left New York City and a management consulting career working with Fortune 500 clients in a variety of industries.
In 2006, Geraldine Knatz became the first female executive director of the Port of Los Angeles, where she oversees the daily operations and internal management of the nation's number one container port. Under Knatz's leadership, the Port is investing $1.2 billion in capital development projects through 2015.
