2012 Meid Mentorship Speaker - Peter Thorrington

Thanks to the generosity of the Meid and McFarlane Foundation, every Spring we are honored to have guest speaker visit our campus. The lecturers reflect our mission as a liberal arts college, representing a variety of disciplines.  Guest speakers visit with students, faculty and staff.  The program culminates with a public lecture on the last evening.

We are pleased to announce Mr. Peter Thorrington as the Spring 2012 Meid Mentorship Guest Speaker on March 28 and 29, 2012.

Peter Thorrington, who is a member of the board of directors for Opportunity International, presents the 2012 Meid Visiting Mentor Lecture. Mr. Thorrington will discuss his important work at Opportunity International, which is a microfinance service organization that provides small business loans, savings, insurance and training to more than two million people working their way out of poverty in the developing world. Opportunity International was the first organization to approach microfinance using a microfinance network.  The global Opportunity International Network serves clients in more than 20 countries and works with fundraising partners in the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom.
